From July 24th to August 9th, the Belle Etoile shopping center will vibrate to the rhythm of the little queen. Throughout the gallery, an exceptional exhibition will invite young and old to travel back in time on two wheels. The Weyler Bicycle Museum will unveil its rarest and most emblematic pieces, tracing more than two centuries of innovation and cycling passion.
Among the gems on display, visitors will be able to admire an authentic balance bike from 1820, the forerunner of the pedal-free bicycle, and a pedal velocipede from 1870, symbols of an era when every pedal stroke was a revolution. The famous large bicycles—those machines with disproportionately large front wheels—will be displayed alongside the first modern bicycles from the 1890s, true precursors of our current bikes.
The collection also includes children's tricycles and quadricycles, tandems, and even the rare triplets, providing playful and family-friendly testaments to the passion for cycling across generations. A space will be dedicated to the first transport bicycles used by bakers and butchers, recalling the essential role of the bicycle in daily life in the last century.
On the competition side, the exhibition will pay tribute to Luxembourg's greatest champions. The racing bikes of Jean Majérus, Josy Kraus, Bob Jungels, Frank and Andy Schleck, as well as the promising Marie Schreiber, will be on display. This will be a unique opportunity to admire up close the machines that took these athletes to the top of international cycling.
