In the 19th and 20th centuries, pastoral care aimed to create a better church structure, either as a bulwark against modernity or by integrating it. However, secularization occurred largely independent of these dynamics. Many individuals are indifferent to the church offerings, and secular trends amplify this phenomenon. What role does pastoral care hold in this context? How can we constructively engage with our time, experiencing it as "God’s time"? These questions will be addressed in this pastoral morning session.

Speaker: Jan Loffeld, a theologian who studied in Münster and Rome, ordained priest in 2003, with a PhD in pastoral theology. Since 2019, he has been a professor of practical theology at the Tilburg School of Catholic Theology in Utrecht.
