Numerous films from the USA and Europe, such as "The Emigrants" (Sweden, 1971), "The New Land" (Sweden, 1972), "Heaven’s Gate" (USA, 1980), "Golden Door" (Italy, 2006), "Once Upon a Time in America" (USA, 1984), "Gangs of New York" (USA, 2002), and "The Brutalist" (USA/UK/Hungary, 2025), explore the impact of European migration to America and the formation of European communities in the New World. This lecture focuses on the portrayal of these migration movements across various genres and decades, incorporating both European and American perspectives. Attention is given to analyzing the depiction of migration dynamics, cultural transfer, and identity formation.
