“Activities of daily living after a stroke”
Stroke rehabilitation should begin as early as possible. The main goal of occupational therapy for stroke is to restore independence to patients. Affected individuals must learn to recover lost abilities, improve existing ones, and master their lives with the remaining aftereffects.
Daily activities such as body care, dressing and undressing, transfers and housework are trained, as well as the use of aids. With the help of occupational therapy, the frequency of significant assistance needs can be reduced. In a joint exchange, we would like to answer your questions.
With: Joëlle Kieffer, occupational therapist at CHEM and member of the scientific committee of Blëtz asbl
The event is organized by Blëtz ASBL, a non-profit association that works to support those affected by a stroke in Luxembourg.
