The conference "Intersectionality: Understanding and Overcoming the Addition of Discrimination," scheduled for May 7, 2025, at Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg, will highlight the challenges of inclusion through the lens of intersectionality. By exploring how the intersection of factors such as age, gender, and disability reinforces discrimination, this conference aims to raise awareness among the Luxembourg public of the specific challenges faced by disabled and vulnerable people, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
Discussions will focus on the impact of these intersecting exclusions, with a particular focus on inclusive education for girls with disabilities. Speakers, including experts from Handicap International and local stakeholders, will share their perspectives and encourage collective action to promote a more inclusive and sustainable society. A social gathering will follow the event to encourage discussion.
