Sound performance by Luka Tonnar. In this sound performance, Luka Tonnar explores the fragile and fleeting nature of urban peace. Great cities, shaped by capitalism and imperialism, are built on the sacrifices of workers and marginalized groups. Thus, the idea of an urban oasis becomes an illusion 2 an unstable balance in a noisy and chaotic world, ready to collapse at any moment. Luka captures this tension between harmony and chaos, transforming the raw city sounds into compositions that highlight the ephemeral beauty of peace while emphasizing its fragility. Through his work, he invites the audience to recognize the sacrifices needed to sustain this peace and to remain aware of its uncertain existence.
To achieve this, he uses urban recordings, electronic sounds, and samples to create a sonic landscape that alternates between moments of harmony and tension, constantly reminding us that this balance is temporary and shifting.
