Garden therapy workshops for people with memory disorders
As part of LUGA, the Info-Zenter Demenz is dedicated to the theme of "Green Care" and organizes nature events for people with forgetfulness and their relatives/caregivers. The horticultural therapy workshops are offered as interactive events that actively involve the participants. The workshops are designed to address and practice the three fields of action and effects of horticultural therapy. We experience and experience the effects of garden therapy together in creative and meaningful programs. We learn, work, and garden together with plants and natural materials. Not to mention the joy and pleasure of being active together.
The workshops also provide a platform for exchange and mutual support and foster connection. These workshops are offered by a German-speaking professional horticultural therapist with a particular focus on the needs of people with memory disorders. They will take place outdoors in the park of the City of Luxembourg (behind Villa Vauban, in the "Culture Hub") (under a tent in case of heavy rain or heat) and will each last 90 minutes (approximately 2 hours with a welcome and refreshing drink).
Ideal group size: 10-12 people with dementia with a companion.
