From the first decades of the 15th century, the House of Valois-Burgundy skillfully took advantage of the weakening position of the House of Luxembourg to assert its power in the country. However, Philip the Good only made his definitive entry into Luxembourg after the military takeover of the duchy in 1443. Since then, the Burgundian princes, and their Habsburg successors, have demonstrated a great political sensitivity to ensure the duchy's unity. Departing from the Lëtzebuerg City Museum, this guided promenade invites participants to explore, through the city, the political symbols deployed by the Burgundian and Habsburg princes.
