According to a recent Polindex study by the University of Luxembourg, over one third of young people in Luxembourg believe democracy is not the best form of government. Trust in democratic institutions in Luxembourg and within the European Union is declining. Could this be related to a lack of imaginative or narrative representation making these institutions tangible? Viviane Thill analyzes the few exceptions and examines how democratic institutions are portrayed in European films and series, exploring the themes and issues associated and the image of democracy conveyed.
