Why choose between Offenbach, Viennese waltzes, or Tchaikovsky's ballets to celebrate the New Year? The Orchester National de Metz Grand Est and David Reiland combine all three in this lively program, also taking us to the Hungarian banks of the Danube with Brahms, into the milongas of Buenos Aires with Piazzolla, or to a Turkish piece inspired by Versailles with a famous march written for Molière's 'The Bourgeois Gentleman'. Florence Price, a contemporary of Gershwin being rediscovered, offers us a symphony movement inspired by the dances of African slaves.
