Seeds observes Black farmers in the rural South of the United States, living with the slow and demanding rhythm of agricultural life: sowing, harvesting, repairing, waiting. Through the seasons, families strive to preserve their farms despite financial challenges and the historical loss of land. The documentary highlights how ownership, work, and memory shape both the survival of these families and their uncertain future. Directed by Brittany Shyne, the film is a deeply moving exploration of the Black farming community, using luminous black-and-white imagery and a respectful approach to turn the challenges of farm life into a lyrical meditation on land, heritage, and perseverance.
