How to Divorce During the War
In Vilnius in 2022, Marija, a successful executive, chooses the worst possible moment to tell her husband Vytas that she wants a divorce: on the eve of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. As the whole country is shaken by uncertainty and fear, their already fragile relationship collapses under the weight of unspoken words and accumulated resentments. Between love, frustration, and moral responsibility, their intimate story becomes a reflection of a world in crisis, where personal choices are inextricably linked to political and human upheaval. Shot largely in Vilnius's old town, this gripping drama intertwines the upheavals of a crisis-ridden Europe and the intimate cataclysm rocking a couple, with a remarkable visual identity.
