A hen escapes from an industrial farm and finds refuge in a run-down Greek tavern by the sea. The establishment is run by a warm-hearted restaurateur, his daughter and her boyfriend, who is involved in a smuggling network.
As the hen discovers love with a rooster and protects her eggs, she becomes the involuntary witness to the darker sides of humanity. Entirely filmed from the point of view of a bird, using eight real Leghorn hens, this tragicomic story by György Pálfi reflects human struggles for survival and belonging, set against the backdrop of the migration crisis in Greece. A visually inventive reflection on individual responsibility and resilience.
