To obtain a scholarship, Marina must recover a civil status document, which only her biological family can provide. Adopted at a very young age after losing both parents, she travels to Vigo, Galicia, her parents' homeland, to meet an entire side of her biological family. There, her quest takes an extremely intimate turn, which she documents with her camera, creating a mise en abyme that plunges her into a past that had remained silent. This coming-of-age story, the third feature by Carla Simón, is like a poem—anchored in the fragmented personal history of the Spanish director, constantly in search of missing images, poignantly captured by cinematographer Hélène Louvart.
