Curious café: Democracy – what is it really about?
Democracy, as an ideal, seems to be shared by many, yet many people become cynical about it. Sometimes there seems to be too little of it, sometimes it feels like the tyranny of the majority, which is not always the most informed. What is democracy really about? We will discuss this a few days after the municipal elections, but the conversation will go far beyond current affairs.
The discussion will be led by Anna Zielinska, Associate Professor at the University of Lorraine, specialist in moral, legal, and political philosophy. She has worked on metaethics, law, medical ethics, as well as the dynamics of discrimination (sexual orientation, identity, racism, anti-Semitism) and political psychology from an interdisciplinary perspective.
