Guided tour: Jugendstil – a name that truly embodied its program. This style, newly created and inspired by nature, aimed to express its own era. Through beauty in everyday life and the use of traditional crafts, it sought to create a better world. In Luxembourg, the Art Nouveau period coincided with major developments in the art scene, such as the founding of an art association in 1893 and the creation of the École d’Artisans in 1896, where artists and craftsmen trained together. Through innovative Jugendstil works in applied arts, never-before-seen drawings, and historical photographs, this fascinating period is explored in detail in the Grand Duchy for the first time.
