After eight years dedicated to comics, the Moselle Department is opening a new cultural chapter by celebrating the art of cinema. For this 2026 edition, it is partnering with an exceptional institution, the Cinémathèque française, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary that year. Together, they are presenting a unique off-site exhibition, installed in the majestic setting of Malbrouck Castle. An immersion into the world of Méliès Entitled "Méliès, the Magic of Cinema," the exhibition invites visitors of all ages to discover the prolific work of Georges Méliès, a founding figure of cinema. A magician turned filmmaker, he revolutionized a nascent art form by introducing fiction, fantasy, and the first special effects. Between 1896 and 1913, he made more than 500 films, paving the way for a boundless imagination.
