- show
Formed in 2017 by five young musicians playing oboe, sackbut, trumpet, recorder, dulcian, bombard, and various percussion, the ensemble Into The Winds invites you to discover the musical repertoire of the Middle Ages. The ensemble will perform The Great Conflagration • Music for a Mad King, evoking the Hundred Years' War and the chaotic reign of Charles VI, who suffered from bouts of madness beginning in 1392. Mixing original compositions played on replicas of ancient instruments and texts by chroniclers, this show offers a unique musical journey through a troubled and little-known era with deeply contemporary issues.
