Ambitus and Estro Armonico

For about ten years, Ambitus, the vocal ensemble from Echternach, has regularly organised concerts at the Trifolion cultural centre. The tradition is to present programs, often with soloists and orchestra, that feature works outside the standard repertoire. The choir has previously taken on major works such as Canto General by Theodorakis, "Die Schöpfung" by Haydn, "Petite Messe Solennelle" by Rossini, double choir masses by Rheinberger and V. Williams, and "Le Roi David" by Arthur Honegger, among others. This year, royal music features with the "Coronation Anthems" by G.F. Handel and the famous "Te Deum" by Marc Antoine Charpentier, a selection inspired by the recent change in the Grand Ducal House. "Estro Armonico", an orchestra made up of professional musicians under the guidance of its founder Guy Goethals, will accompany the singers. For many years, this orchestra has collaborated with choirs to deliver quality concerts. The line-up of soloists includes: Gerlinde Sämann (soprano), Jeff Mack (countertenor), Benoît Porcherot (tenor), and Franz Schilling (bass-baritone). Conducted by Roby Schiltz.
