The ocean is both the cradle and the destination of all life on Earth, and yet this vast cocoon of life is now threatened. SEAGNAL follows the ocean's latest warning signals and confronts us with disturbing truths we have ignored for too long: ghost fishing, overfishing, rising sea levels, and the destruction of coastal ecosystems. Faced with the devastation wrought by human greed and negligence on our oceans, seven people answer the call. SEAGNAL doesn't just invite us to listen; it encourages us to rethink our relationship with the sea.

Co-produced with Greenpeace East Asia, SEAGNAL highlights the warning signs of the ocean crisis through the testimonies of those on the front lines of marine conservation: the Haenyeo divers of Jeju Island in South Korea, indigenous coastal communities in Indonesia, marine sanctuary defenders in Mexico, freedivers in Australia, a Greenpeace expedition to the Seychelles, and scientists studying underwater noise pollution in Barcelona. Far from being passive victims, they are active guardians working to protect the oceans.

This documentary offers a bold response to the global environmental emergency and explores new ways of telling stories through cinema. Following the 2023 United Nations resolution calling for the expansion of marine protected areas, the international community has rallied around the 30x30 target: protecting 30% of the world's oceans by 2030. *SEAGNAL* makes a powerful cultural and emotional contribution to this global movement.
