The title of the famous 1961 film also becomes the title of the concert presented by Luxembourg Philharmonia. Under the direction of Martin Elmquist, the orchestra invites the audience to discover two masterpieces by Johannes Brahms. The main work performed, the "Double Concerto" for violin, cello, and orchestra in A minor, Opus 102—Brahms' last orchestral opus—will be interpreted by two remarkable soloists: Constantin Riccardi and Nora Braun. After the intermission, the program continues with Symphony No. 2 in D major, Opus 73, composed in 1877, which reveals the richness and depth of Brahms' universe.
