Midi de l'Art: Et leeft. The exhibition about menstruation

Although about half of the world's population has, will have, or has had a menstrual cycle, menstruation remains a taboo subject. In recent years, manifestos, actions against period poverty, and the development of new products have multiplied worldwide. In Luxembourg too, this universal theme is increasingly discussed, such as the 2021 petition on menstrual leave or the free distribution of hygiene products in public restrooms. Through museum objects, interviews, music, films, and art, the exhibition unveils the discourses and debates of recent decades, traces the evolution of menstrual products from the late 19th century to today, and gives space to the voices of people with periods. The exhibition was created by the Museum Europäischer Kulturen (MEK) in Berlin and adapted to the Luxembourg context by the Lëtzebuerg City Museum.
