According to a Japanese legend, Orihime, the celestial weaver, and Hikoboshi, the cowherd, fell madly in love. However, absorbed by their happiness, they neglected their duties. To punish them, the Emperor of heaven separated them on either side of the Milky Way, allowing them to meet only one night each year: the 7th day of the 7th month. For over 1,500 years, Japan has celebrated this love story through Tanabata, the Star Festival. On this occasion, write your wishes on a small colored paper (tanzaku) and hang it on a bamboo branch, a symbol of growth, strength, and hope. Your wishes can be dreams, goals, thanks, or promises to yourself. To celebrate this moment, Mariko San, our wagashi artisan trained in Kyoto, will offer you creations inspired by Tanabata. Genuine gourmet works of art with delicate shapes and colors evoking the starry sky, to accompany this moment of poetry.
