TABU THEMA – Diagnose: Systemfehler
- health

- conference
Round-table discussion on how society treats people who have received a psychiatric diagnosis. Psychiatric diagnoses can still be associated with exclusion from everyday life and with hasty, discriminatory judgement. Such attitudes may further aggravate anxiety, depression or addictions, while hospitalisation can also entail a risk of losing autonomy. This discussion evening addresses this everyday discrimination and considers what dignified, respectful support for people with psychiatric diagnoses can look like. Mental health concerns everyone and requires an inclusive rather than excluding community. With Tessy Bemtgen (Lights On socio-cultural project), Dr Axel Meinhardt (child and adolescent psychiatrist, Hôpitaux Robert Schuman), Dr Jean-Paul Steinmetz (Director of Operations, Zitha Senior/Psychiatry), and a person with lived experience. Moderated by Nora Schleich (EwB).
