Philippe Quesne continues his reflections on the place of art in everyday life with a creation for four performers and guests, where visual and musical inventions respond to the twists and turns of original poems by Laura Vazquez. Le Paradoxe de John recalls one of the director’s earliest plays, forming a diptych with it 18 years later. In 2007, L’Effet de Serge portrayed a solitary man who organised shows for his friends every Sunday in his apartment. From the tension between obsessive pursuit and the need to share emerge the adventures of a character busy arranging an art gallery, surrounded by guests. Texts by poet and novelist Laura Vazquez inhabit the libretto, continuing a collaboration begun with Fantasmagoria and Le Jardin des Délices.
