- Luxembourg
An impressive system of fortifications, almost entirely disappeared since the Treaty of London of 1867, defended the Kirchberg and protected the fortress city. The engineer Vauban, who led the work during the siege of 1684, was tasked with preparing a project to strengthen the fortress. The museum offers two-hour guided tours of these fortifications.
