Formed in 2017 in Victoria, Canada, Spiritbox, with vocalist Courtney LaPlante and guitarist Mike Stringer, quickly established themselves in the modern metal scene. Their explosive single "Holy Roller" marked their international breakthrough in 2020, followed by their debut album Eternal Blue, which debuted at number 13 on the Billboard 200. The band blends djent-driven heaviness, atmospheric textures, and cinematic arrangements with LaPlante's dynamic vocals. Eternal Blue enabled the band to launch a sold-out headlining tour. In 2022, the lineup expanded with drummer Zev Rose and bassist Josh Gilbert, and they released the experimental EP Rotoscope. Their evolution continued with The Fear of Fear (2023), whose single "Jaded" earned a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance. Jinjer, a Ukrainian metal band formed in 2009, is known for their fusion of progressive metal, groove metal, and metalcore. Led by vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk, the band gained international recognition with the viral success of "Pisces" and albums such as King of Everything, Macro, and Wallflowers. Jinjer is praised for technical precision, complex rhythms, and commanding live shows, making them a reference in contemporary metal.
