Choreographic Workshop - Dance
This weekly course, organized over ten sessions, offers an exploration of dance as a sensitive, creative, and collective practice. Inspired by Butoh and contemporary dance, it is aimed at anyone wishing to dance, invent, and participate in a creative process. Butoh invites a dance based on presence, listening to the body and imagination, rather than forms to reproduce. Contemporary dance provides tools to compose and organize movement in space and time. This course creates a dialogue between these two approaches. We will explore personal dance practices: presence, improvisation, sensations, images, rhythms, and relationships, as well as basic principles of choreographic composition. How does a gesture become choreographic material? How can individual experiences become a common work? How to preserve the uniqueness of each individual in a collective creation? Gradually, the participants' proposals will enrich a composition work. Together, we will build an original choreography derived from our research, encounters, and imaginations. Everyone will actively contribute to the writing process, beyond the role of an interpreter. This cycle is an initiation into dance and choreographic composition, allowing for the development of one's own dance while participating in a collective and lively creation. Please note there are no locker rooms or showers. It is therefore important to come dressed appropriately for the activity.
